Procedure

  • External (open) rhinoplasty – this technique employs a small bridging incision called a trans-columellar incision, to connect the right and left nostril incisions. Preoperative
  • Stop smoking and drinking alcoholic beverages two weeks before and after surgery for healing the wound faster. 
  • Abstain from aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E and supplements two weeks before surgery to prevent the severe bleeding.
  • Notify any medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. including any usage of a drug or dietary supplements.
  • Do not eat or drink at least 8 hours before the surgery.
Recovery
  • Apply Cold Compress on your forehead and cheekbone 5 times a day to reduce the swelling in the first period of recovery.
  • The swelling can be increased 2-3 days after the surgery and will be gradually improved after 1-2 months.
  • Remove the plaster after 2 days.
  • Lie down with the head raised higher than your chest, the swelling will subside faster.
  • Don't wear eyeglasses for 2 weeks.
  • Reduce heavy activities 3 weeks after the surgery.
  • Avoid spicy food, seafood, fermented food, alcohol drinks and smoking.
