Scar Condition
After removing all the stitches, you are recommended to apply ointment for reducing scar 2 times per day to prevent keloid.

Procedure

  • Endoscopic (minimally invasive) Ribbon Lift, your surgeon will typically make a small, usually undetectable incision in the hairline or behind the ear.
  • Conventional (open) Ribbon Lift of the lower-face, the surgeon will perform your procedure with incisions usually beginning above the hairline near the temples, extending in a natural line across the front of the ear and then behind the earlobe.
Preoperative
  • Abstain from aspirin, cigarettes, garlic, onions, fish oil, vitamin E and soy products 2 weeks before and after surgery to prevent bruising or severe bleeding.
  • Do not eat or drink at least 6 hours before the surgery.
  • Wash your hair in the morning before surgery to prevent infection.
  • Normal blood pressure control 2 weeks before surgery.
  • Preparing to take leave for 7-10 days to recuperate.
  • Notify any medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, etc. including any usage of a drug or dietary supplements.
Recovery
  • Apply Cold Compress 4 times a day to reduce the swelling in the first period of recovery.
  • Lie down with the head raised higher than your chest and avoid neck rotation the swelling will subside faster.
  • Remove bandage the next day after the surgery. You may wash your hair very gently and make sure to keep them dry.
  • Come back days 5 after the surgery to remove the stitches around the ear area. If you delay to remove your stitch, it may cause some wound.
  • A week after the surgery you will come back again to loosen the stitch on your head to make it more comfortable for the wound.
  • 10 days after the surgery, come back to remove all the stitches and for the follow up. However, if the incision is still tight you might have to remove your stitches 14 days after the surgery.
  • Any other side effect, please consult a doctor immediately.
