Regarding Thailand's COVID-19 situation, Thailand has announced that all airlines should be temporarily suspended flight on both domestic and international in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus since May 2020. The number of new COVID-19 infections has gradually decreased, as a result, the Thai government instructs to loosen some lockdown measures, allow some businesses to re-open even if it is not 100% unlock.
At the same time, domestic airlines have resumed operating after temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 outbreak. However, this unlock must be under the measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as announced by the Ministry of Public Health. This measure is requiring all passengers to wear a mask at all times, arrange the waiting seats for passengers, set up social distancing for queueing including arranging temperature screening on everyone who visits the airport for their safety.
As the Thai government continuously released the unlock measures to restore Thailand’s economic; people, government agencies, and the private sector are cooperating well with the unlock measures. As a result, the Thai Prime Minister prepares to unlock additional activities on May 17.
Before the aforesaid date, on May 9, 2020, Mr. Anutin Charnwirakul, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health revealed that there may be two countries i.e. China and South Korea will be removed from the list of high-risk COVID-19 country. With this regard, the academic committee is preparing a report and documents to support this aspect according to the process. It is expected that within next week we will know that Thailand will remove China and South Korea from the list of high-risk COVID-19 country?
After the widely spoke that Chinese and South Koreans tourist will return to travel in Thailand very soon, many people would question that after removing Chinese and South Korea from the list of high-risk COVID-19 country, those tourists will be able to fly directly to Thailand same as before the outbreak? At this point, it is expected that even though it is not a high-risk COVID-19 country, the intensive screening measures of the Thai government must be imposed to prevent the outbreak the same as before.
Screening measures for entry into the country
